The cup is made of 100% PLA (polylactic acid), a plant-based plastic that is compostable in commercial facilities. The clear PLA provides visibility of the contents. The cup tolerates heat of up to 105 degrees F/40 degrees C. It is free of BPA (Bisphenol A) and complies with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard D5338 for compostability.
