Ordered this on Amazon Prime, just got it today. I ordered the "used, like new" champagne-colored case, for about $55.Pretty good, basically new, especially for the price I paid. However, the interior is a different color than pictured, since it was actually black, not a purplish- maroon color, which isn't necessarily a bad thing since I actually prefer the black color over the purple. The material was really soft inside (feels like the fur you would find on a stuffed animal). My violin fit pretty snug inside; however that really depends on the size of your violin, as sizes still vary, even if they all are 4/4 size. There is velcro to secure the violin, but it is glued on and seems to be made of cheaper plastic material. The bow holders (twist) were average. There is also a mini strap attached to the cover and bottom of the case to hold the top up.It came with straps, which were placed inside the case, bundled with rubber bands. I have to say, the straps are pretty good quality, especially compared with the typical cheap plastic straps you would find in other violin cases. The lock was also a nice addition, came with clear instructions on how to set/reset the three digit passcode. The handle was pretty sturdy, made of plastic with metal inside for a nice spring when you grab it.The case was able to stand on its own when set down and opened (without the straps attached). HOWEVER, it will move around if you put it down with the straps attached, as the straps will create a bump. Also, be careful, since it doesn't close perfectly; if you just casually close it, the top will go on top of the violin (the bridge, as it is the highest part). You have to make sure to close the case carefully if you don't want to accidentally damage the violin, with the cover pressing down on it. However, it will close nicely if you pull the top slightly towards you when closing it, so the bridge/strong section of the violin will go under the part the is curved in on the cover, between the two bows. There isn't a specific pocket to put you rest. However, there is a compartment on the left side if you look down towards the case. I have to say, it would have been a lot more convenient if it was slightly bigger. My rest doesn't fit perfectly because of the length of the compartment, so I have to slightly squeeze it in. However, I can manage to fit my rest (Everest brand), an extra rest (same brand), and a small rosin in it.For the outside, the zipper goes pretty smoothly without any problems. The material of the case is very sturdy, seems to be made of the material you would find on some hard suitcases. There is also a sort of black medium-hard plastic material surrounding the zippers. Relatively light.Overall the case is pretty worth. Interior is good. However, compartment could be bigger and velcro made of better-quality material. Outside is also good with no changes I see necessary.
